Magic

There's quite a bit of magic in an empty piece of paper
or a blank space on a wall.
Both can be entirely full while being completely bare,
full of the wonder of what is to come.
There are infinite stories that could be written,
or the paintings that could form.
But, there is nothing there, not yet.
Until the page is marked upon, it has no set destiny.
It could be anything.
A fairytale, a mystery, or a sci-fi blockbuster.
Once someone pours out their dreams onto it, however,
the paper loses its magic, and gains an entirely new magic.
It contains the magic of a new story told.
Life-changing little miracles that come with every written word
or deliberately placed brush stroke.
The elegance of creating new delights.
Nothing is more beautiful than creation,
except for the emptiness that belongs to a piece of paper
that could become the universe if one just imagined it.
